Join me as I explore the wonders of Arthur's Pass National Park

Hi, Jon here, I have been visiting the forests and mountains for many years, with particular attention to the parks and forests close to Christchurch, my home town.

The main focus of this blog will be the walks and tracks within Arthur's Pass National Park, the first National Park I ever visited and my tramping home.

Eventually, you will also find information about tramping /hiking, the history of tramping in the park, general park history, environmental issues, mountaineering and outdoor concerns all related to Arthur's Pass.

I will also have reports about the trips I do, including photos and information about the tracks, facilities and huts I use while visiting the iconic New Zealand back country.

Its a pleasure to have you on this journey with me.....let's see where we can go!
